Sunday 24th June 2018 - GRC Fauldhouse Sprint Triathlon

Media, June 26, 2018

Excellent day as a wee group of PTC members took part in the sprint triathlon in Fauldhouse.

Well..whilst PTC member Jennifer Kettle and Lucy Rattrie were cycling through the night and stopping off for a chippy and a rave….sounds like a good night out! What an amazing achievement ladies managing to ‘Ride on Time’ to make it up north for the sunrise (you were close enough), well done – now can we have your autograph to sell on eBay?! ??

Elsewhere.....in the depths of West Lothian, a wee team of PTC members were also racing last weekend at G.R.C Fauldhouse Sprint Triathlon; Gillian Kennedy, Ashleigh Jolly, Julie Clark (an adopted PTC member for the day), Jo Connell, Carole Mallett and Kathleen Connor made the arduous journey to ‘Fauldhoose’ for the sprint triathlon (ok..slight exaggeration, took them around 45 mins to get there!) Did you know that Stephen Greenhorn, the Scottish playwright and screenwriter, was born in Fauldhouse and is the creator of TV series River City?!

Anyhoo……Ashleigh completed the sprint triathlon in a fantastic time of 1:11:20 and was 22nd overall out of 94 competitors and 5th in her category ???? Gillian Kennedy won 2nd place in her category finishing in a time of 1:46:42 and placed 92nd overall – scooping up the medals again Gillian ??and team ‘Tri-again’ (Jo swimming, Kathleen cycling and Carole running) finished in a time of 1:19:50 and placed 59th overall. Julie was doing her first every triathlon and completed the event in 1:46:58 ?? Everyone reported having a great time; excellent organisation, marshalling, atmosphere, music, food, weather…the lot! Our crew were amazed at the finishers’ bags and all the goodies that it comprised not to mention the hoodies! A wee Gracias, Merci, Danke, Grazie, dzieki and thanks to their supporters who came along to cheer them on - well done peeps.
