Good morning everyone, hope you had a super weekend regardless of the mad weather conditions!

We had three club members racing over the wintery weekend; Mark Scobie and Colin and Joan Wilson. Trail shoes on and off they all popped. Mark travelled to Balbirnie Park in Fife for the Skull Mountain Trail race which consisted of 4 miles of running on the paths and trails with a few water crossings and steep wee undulations thrown in to keep everyone on their toes! Mark flew over the finish line in a time of 43:50 and was 47th overall out of 140 runners. 👏👏👏

We also had Colin and Joan Wilson racing at the weekend, not one but two hill races (gluttons for punishment!), first race was Chapel Gill hill race on Saturday. This short sharp race took place in Glenholm, Peebleshire (distance of 2.6km) and is described as “A relentlessly steep climb followed immediately by a thigh-burning descent.” Colin finished the Chapel Gill race in 32:42 with Joan hot on his heels finishing in a time of 32:46. Then on Sunday, Colin and Joan headed to New Abbey in Dumfries for the Criffel Hill Race. This hill race was a tad longer, 10.5km to be exact with a 550 metre climb. Colin finished the race in 90 mins and won a spot prize as this was his 300th registered hill race on the Scottish Hill Runners website since 2005. Joan finished Criffel Hill race in 81:20 and won 1st place in FV50 👏💪

Amazing racing everyone. Well done Colin on you 300th hill race, your knees are wearing well!🦵💪👏3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣
