Club member Gillian Kennedy completes all Scottish Parkruns to date.

Club member Gillian Kennedy has been flying the flag for PTC at parkrun as she has just recently completed all 45 parkruns in Scotland from Bressay (the most northerly parkrun) to Crichton parkrun in Dumfries. Gillian reported that 10 of the parkruns only started up in 2018 with the latest addition to being Dunbar Parkrun. There are also some new Parkruns scheduled to start up in Bathgate and Glasgow.

Here is what Gillian had to say about her parkrun journey “Its taken a bitmore than a year but been worth every step. From Bressay to Dumfries, Aberdeen to Ayr. Wide variety of courses from trail to tarmac, beach prom to playing fields. But always friendly and inclusive. Parkrun - like triathlon - has something for everyone. From doing Vogrie with my sisters to Perth in the snow. Strathclyde and Linwood double for New Year, Lanark for Halloween. From Girvan and Ganavan to Crathes and Aviemore. And the journey is not over with more parkrun events planned all the time. I may be always near the back of the field but the view is just as good from there. If you can - try some Parkrun tourism you won't be sorry!”

Fantastic achievement Gillian well done.👏👏👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏃‍♀️

For any of you who are not aware of Parkrun, these are 5km runs held on Saturday mornings in areas of open space around the UK. They are run by volunteers and are completely free and easy to take part in. Register on the parkrun website, print off your barcode and just turn up. You can run, jog, walk, hop…whatever gets you round the 5km and you will never be last as there is always a tail runner. For further info follow the link
